It's official! The 12th Doctor will be Peter Capaldi!

Yes yes, I know, it's quite a change from young Matt Smith, which will take some getting used to... but Peter is a great actor and I know that he will make a great Doctor.

In fact, most of you probably already know this, but, Peter played Caecilius in 'The Fires of Pompeii', so I'm sure he already has a love for the show, which is an extremely important quality when picking the next actor for the part.

Okay, the downsides to Peter Capaldi joining the show in season 8? MATT SMITH, MY DOCTOR, IS GOING TO REGENERATE AND LEAVE AND I'M NOT SURE I'LL BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT. *Deeeeeeeeeeep breathes....* But that's okay, I suppose because after all, that's what Doctor Who is all about -- change. That's what made it possible for this fantastic show to continue on for 50 incredible years.

Also, Matt still has 2 episodes left, one of which will be an extended episode, THE 50th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, with DAVID TENNANT -- which is just the icing on the cake. Okay, let's be honest, it's the icing, the SPRINKLES, THE CANDLES, EVERYTHING. I AM SO EXCITED -- ONLY 110 DAYS TO GO! WE. CAN. DO. THIS.

Alrighty my friends, that's all for now. Congratulations to Peter Capaldi on getting the incredible role of the 12th Doctor :)

I have mixed feelings about the casting, but I wish him all the luck with the role! He's a great actor.
